Because I really wanted him to leave an exceptional impact on the player, I asked for the cursed, boss design to be done first. And then, that would be the guide for designing his former, human form.

Since the full image wouldn’t be displayed (just from the chest up), I had a hard time trying to make him look both grand and ominous in just that area of his body. It was Mr. Ito’s idea to give him the tattered look to demonstrate that he’s been cursed.
