Part 25: Into the Heart of Darkness
Chapter 24: Into the Heart of Darkness
Welcome back, children.
Ahem.
Children and adults with bad fake accents, whatever.
You insult moi! My accent is quite convincing!
Only to you.
She's right, you know. Anyway, we last left our story with us in my best friend's heart, trying to purge her of darkness.
This isn't going to divert into some story about how great the power of love is or something, is it? I can't stand that stuff.
Hey!
No, it's mostly Eclair whining.
That's okay I guess.
Anyway, let's get on with this.
VIDEO
We set out to discover the source of Eclair's problem.
Don't come near me!!
You're going to force me to become queen, right? Come on!! Admit it!!
Um, Eclair...
Ok... I'll be Queen...
Hee hee.
Just kidding!
You think I'm that stupid?
Nya nya nya nya!
Catch me if you can!
Hahahahahaha!
Yeah, the evil Eclair was kind of a jerk more than anything.
I'm not fit to be the Maiden of Light.
Please leave me alone.
Tee hee.
Yeah! Training to become the Maiden of Light is such a pain!
I'm not gonna do it!
Hahahahaha!
That's not to say that regular Eclair wasn't kind of pathetic, because she was. Neither Eclair was terribly balanced.
The things I really don't want to do. Why can't I say I don't want to do them?
I don't want to be the Maiden of Light. I don't want to be Queen.
Big Sister... What is freedom? What is responsibility?
Yes
Everyone's counting on her to be the next Queen and Maiden of Light.
It must be difficult.
That's what grew darkness in her, creating that other Eclair...
Um, Eclair... The thing is... You should... Just don't worry about it!
Stop worrying about your status or what other people think. Live life your own way!
Try and chill a little, OK?
SHUT UP!!
What do you know?!
How could you possibly understand how it feels to be the next Queen?!
How can you understand what it feels like to have everyone counting on you?!
... I wanted you to understand how I felt!
But that other Eclair, she... She could never say anything like that!!
She always pretends to be so good and always obeys her mother... Just like a puppet!!
That's why I had to come out!
Big Sister...
You like this Eclair better than that other Eclair, right?
......
Croix!!
We just have to kick her out, right?
This is the fastest way.
But she's Eclair, too!
I don't want her to get hurt any more!
Big Sister...
Please! Go back to your normal self, Eclair!
So you like the other Eclair better, too...?
You like that doll? That doll who does whatever people say?
You can all just disappear!!
She's way cooler than you, you know.
Come again?
I mean, she's got a laser sword.
I think it's made of lightning. But otherwise you're dead on.
Well, your point is well made, but allow me to make this counterpoint: Shut up. And anyway, have you ever tried to use a weapon made of lightning? Overrated is all I'm saying. Anyway, we had to fight her again. She was more powerful than she was outside, but I still kicked the crap out of her. We reappeared outside and she passed out, back to normal for the moment at least...
Crepine: I had no idea my daughter was under so much pressure...
...I'll let her rest for a while.
Yes, that sounds like a good idea.
Um... Your Majesty?
Please be kind to Eclair.
Crepine: Your name is Prier, isn't it?
My daughter told me about you.
She doesn't smile very often, but she always seemed very happy when she
spoke of you.
She must be very fond of you.
Maybe you could convice her to...
...No. Please, just continue to be her friend.
Crepine: Feel free to use it any time you like.
Thank you!
I'm going to stop there for the day, because believe it or not the Royal Library is where our story weird.
Pardon moi, but you just battled someone's evil self inside their heart. Is this not already quite weird?
No. There's flying pumpkin ghosts and some kind of weird crazy thing I still to this day don't understand in the library. All I'll say now is that I wish we could have just found a book on Fatima, but oh no, it turns out we have to talk with a crazy wall dude.
Crazy...
Wall...
Dude?
Can that crap, it's played out.
