Dungeon Hythloth: Complete solution (Part
3)
At the end of the tunnel is a Wyrmguard. He isn't one of
our former companions, so we have to kill him.
Moving from platform to platform brings us to the front
of the column. Some treasure can be found on ledges to the left and right,
but it's nothing spectacular.
The entrance to the column is on the opposite side,
underwater.
Now we backtrack ALLLLLLL the way to the start of the
dungeon, to the first flooded room. We ride the elevator up and install
the yellow Statue Key. Three of the four gates are open.
Now we head to the second intersection, and go
east.
We stumble across a pile of bones and a scroll. I'm sure
the scroll means nothing.
Entering the next room causes gates to close over both
doors, locking us in.
Disturbing the chainmail leggings in the middle of the
room causes the walls to start to close in on us.
The gate opens at the last second and we
escape.
The area we're in is an intersection. The other two
directions are blocked off by closed gates, so we go
south.
The room south is another tank of water, like the one in
the first area.
Also like the first area, there is an underwater crank.
Turning the crank opens the gate to the east.
The room in the east is mostly empty. Jump across the
water and head up the ramp.
The next room is the only major puzzle in this dungeon.
It's a series of columns that we have to jump across to reach the green
pedestal.
We navigate the puzzle by jumping on the pillars in the
order listed on the scroll we found.
There are two cranks by the pedestal.
Turning one opens a passage back to the last room. The
treasure chest contains some gold and potions.
The other crank opens the door to the north in the last
intersection.
Putting the green Statue Key on the pedestal opens the
last of the four gates.
Going north at the intersection brings us back to the
room where we found the blue Statue Key.
With all of the gates open, we can now go east.
