Part 2: Episode 2: The most clichéd puzzle in adventure gaming, minus the piece of paper
Walrus Pete posted:
I actually owned this game as a kid. It would freeze every single time at some point fairly early on, so it'll be interesting to see the rest of the game.
edit: I do NOT remember the protagonist's voice, though... was there a no-voice version of the game or was it just too long ago?
I think most Coktel games came in floppy and CD versions. I read that they both came out at about the same time for this game.
Speaking of when things come out, I think it's about time for the second video, Episode 2: The most clichéd puzzle in adventure gaming, minus the piece of paper
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED:
In 1992, Doralice arrived at the manor de la Pruneliere only to find it locked. Her lawyer had arrived first, and suspecting that the house was being used for criminal activity, had gone to fetch the police. Doralice threw caution to the wind and entered the manor, unlocking the various doors and gates in her way using whatever random things she could find lying around.
Of particular note in this episode, although I didn't point it out in the commentary, is that Captain Philibert (the subject of the portrait, and the object of the puzzle at the vault door) died in 1840. That's the year when Doralice woke up in the ship's hold. None of this is really important, but it might help you understand what's going on when all the pieces come together later.
