Part 18

Sorry this is going to be a short update, this weekend is going to be hectic. My sister is in town and we're going to be doing lots of family stuff in preperation for a vacation next month. They (my mom and two sisters) are starting a road trip on monday which will end up in California, where my girlfriend (MY GIRLFRIEND) will meet them on the 12th of June. Then, we're going to my cousin's wedding. Then, on the 19th, my mom and I are going to drive back across the country for a week and a half. Anyway, we're preparing for all this shit so yeah, I might only get in one or two updates before monday.

So we were going to find Brant, who is supposedly in this cave, although judging by the game's track record. . .


Down the stairs we'll go, then.


6/8 we're so close I can almost taste it!


There's the cave, it's pretty big.


The first floor is full of holes which take you to the basement. . .


Which is full of toxic marsh! But hey, those stairs in the middle look important, I wonder where they lead?

and 7/8 shit that was quick.


Werefrog And sabrespook. I wonder if they like Hockey?


Zaurus and Cave Rok. I thought it was spelled Roc before?


The left door had a teleporter, which there are lots of in this cave. It took me to a revive, which wasn't very exciting.


However, flipping this switch causes the teleporter to take me to a different part of the dungeon so I can continue on.


Lufia learned Blast, the mid level blast-type spell, that hits all enemies. It isn't really that great unless I equip the blast ring, which I won't do, because Flash is way cooler.


A silver sword. . . in mines. . . it just makes so much sense.


Some dude lives down here? Weird shit. And for some reason, there's an HP tile, but not an MP tile.

DOOM ISLAND:

East of here is Ring Island. It was created when Doom Island sank into the sea. There's a lagoon in the middle of the island. Some folks say that the Fortress of Doom is at the bottom.

In the center of Ring Island, I see.

There are three sea caves around Ring Island. They lead to the center of the Lagoon. I recently discovered something unbelievable about Doom Island!

What did you discover?

The ocean currents flow near Doom Island. But they've changed recently.

What caused that?

Well, it seems that the island is starting to move. I'm afraid that something terrible is about to happen!

DUAL BLADE

The Fortress of Doom should hold the Dual Blade.

The Fortress of Doom?

It's where the final battle was fought. Dual Blade sank into the sea with it. The fortress was supposed to have disappeared with Doom Island when it fell into the center of the ring.

BRANT

Do you know anything about Brant?

He's my friend. What's yoru business with him?

I need Alumina. I heard Brant knows where to find some.

Yes. He's be the one to know. He lived by it. Of course he said there's hardly any left.

I heard Brant was here so I came. Do you know where he is?

He told the townspeople that? Hmm. Brant's in Marse. His girlfriend lives there. It's a secret, you see. So, he said he was here. Marse is a port north of Linze. Follow the shorline by boat and you'll find it. If he's not in Marse, he's in the caves, looking for Alumina.

ALUMINA

There was a lot of it in the old days. Now, you can only find it in the Fargo Islands. The Fargo Islands are north of here. Brant goes there all the time.

seriously, this is ridiculous, giant worm enemies? And lastly, since I'm level 30, I can explore another level of the Old Cave, right?

WRONG

The enemies you fight down there are the same enemies you fight in the intro sequence with Maxim. They seemed easy, except Maxim and his crew were in the high 70's, levelwise. I'm on lv 30. Yeah. I got vicously massacred by frogs, turtles, and finally iron golems. It was a bloodbath, we had no chance to survive.

Next update, I'll progress the story a little. I actually want to get one (or all) of my wishes granted before I attempt the last level of the old cave. Because seriously, getting raped by Mega Frogs is so demeaning.
