The Ant Caves was actually based on the developer's love of the Alien movies, and the faeries were suppose to be mini Bob Hoskins. Though I haven't seen any of those movies so I didn't make the connection. I'm pulling this from an interview with Jason Wilson and Chris Sorrel. (RetroGamer magazine)
