Part 6: Retrieve Data: Maha Ganeshariff
Extra Stage Thoughts
It's short but sweet, basically. There's a lot of stuff happening in cramped spaces, but most of the time, it's managable if you keep your cool. Fuck that one bomb, though. Definitely a step up in stage design from the past two.
Yeah I'm kinda in a hurry why do you ask?
Boss Comments
Attacks
- Wrecking Ball: Self-explanatory. He swings back and forth and then tries to land on you. Dash under his last swing. You can cut the cord with the sowrd, but I honestly fail to see the point. Easy hit when he uncurls.
- Steamroll: Maha curls up and zooms across the whole room. Bombs are fired in regular intervals. This is the hardest attack to avoid, and probably the most common, so...buckle up. It's very consistent, however. Even I never get tagged by it now. Just find a method that works, then it will every time. As you can see, I dash away from him to get a feel for the distance, then double back within the same dash and jump-slash to get rid of stray bombs. At the end of the roll, he'll hit the (invisible?) wall, rebound and uncurl; good opportunity to hit him. Don't be too near the wall when jumping over, or he'll hit you.
- He's just big-boned: A slow walk. No trap or anything. Just hit him.
- Way of the thousand fists: Quick punches. You can't do anything but stand back and wait...or sneak in a shot to interrupt it. People who just use the saber in this game are doing it wrong.
- Tusk Boomerangs (EX Skill): Either one or two tusks are fired off. They're really easy to see coming and dodge by dashing or jumping. Biggest problem is losing sight of him. Delays the fight a little and is just annoying.
Maha is a typical Zero boss: incredibly stupid name (Ganesha is the Hindu God of success [I think] and elephant-headed, other than that I got nothing...), will wreck your shit the first few times, then you figure him out and run circles around his sorry ass. He's a slow fight, so you have to learn how to dodge everything, as usual - it's not too hard.
He's weak to lightning, for some reason. Can't show it off yet as I don't grind...in due course.
Ranking High
Very short level, but tricky. The lightning spinners are triggered by you moving near, so those are very consistent. Most everything else is very predictable, too; bombs and the spike dudes...I think I covered most of what I wanted to say in the video. Biggest wild card is the boss, he takes longest and you can't make mistakes (okay...one. If I hadn't gotten hit by that bomb, his tusk wouldn't have mattered. It's a very crappy EX skill).
Nothing new, as far as I can tell!
