Part 43: The Five Champions - recap
Mission Recap
Game film: LP The Five Champions (TFL 1.5)
Did someone order a side of Foreshadowing? We'll get back to the various pieces of that plot-dump later.
Myth continues to mix up the gameplay with a very micromanagement-heavy mission here. One thing that gives this extra zing is the introduction of hero-variant units (not to be confused with the Heroes listed in the postgame report of every mission). Although, the warrior captain that we saw previously was basically the same idea, so this isn't a completely new thing. But now that you are concentrating on just a few units, the "hero difference" is really noticeable; it feels like having a powerup in effect for the whole mission.
One bit of errata: I was too effusive in the video when singing the praises of hero units. I said that they were faster-moving, but that's only true for the zerk hero. The archer hero is actually slower than the regular archer unit; I'm not sure why that was felt to be necessary, and it's a little annoying.
Our zerk hero Truan, by the way, is the same zerk from the Prologue video; cf. his flavor text.
