Okay...I think that one was in a slightly more vital area than the previous Heroic Shoulder Injury™...

Nier is down for the count thanks to Grimoire Noir's Abstract Modern Art attack. I am not even sure what we are supposed to be looking at here. Noir never does anything remotely like this again.

Grimoire Noir morphs back to normal...

In about eh...fifty updates or so... Oh gawd...we're only half way through the game, aren't we...?

No... No we're not... Part 2 is much more top heavy. And then New Game Plus Act 3... Oh dear...

"Get up!"

"Nooo!"

"Give...my daughter...back..."

The Shadowlord flaps its ethereal cape-wing-Tron-props and begins floating upward....

"No matter how things unfold, it all returns to us. All of it!"

And with that, The Shadowlord and Grimoire Noir zoom off into the sky with Yonah. Well...that could have gone better... At least things cannot get any worse...

"Yonah... Yonah... YONAH!"

"Are you okay?"

"Yonah..."

Nier collapses backwards into Emil...

"Yonah..."

"...Is this blood?"

Music: Emil's Theme (Hey...you should probably listen to this too...)

"The fight's over...and I think we lost..."

"We?"

"Sorry... I think this is it for me, too."

"Kainé!"

"Oh, quit crying. Look, before I go, we need to take care of this guy. Emil?"

"Y-Yeah?"

"I want you..."

Kainé goes silent for a moment and thinks it over...

"I want you to petrify me. Use me to keep this thing locked away."

"No! I can't!"

"Kainé... Stop it..."

"He's right! It's suicide! I can't do it! I won't let you!"

"Your power exists to protect others, right? Come on. Let's do it!"

"Kainé..."

"Just do it, Emil."

"But..."

"It's going to break down the fucking door!"

"I...I don't know what to do..."

The game gives us the option as to what Emil should do next. But, it is a "Thou Must" situation. Kainé will just get pissed and say we don't have a choice. And really, we don't. It's everyone dies, including Kainé. Versus just Kainé dies...

This day has sucked...

Music: Silence...

Emil lets his bloodstained blindfold slip off to the ground.

Ah shi-<is turned to stone>

<nod> "'kay..."

"Heh. I doubt it..."

The entire library is filled with a brilliant white light. The villagers upstairs must be really wondering what in the blue hell is going on out there. Especially with the big evil Shade Nier zapping into the room for a second to nab Yonah.
