Part Twenty-Five: You Guys Had Better Appreciate This

Okay, so I admit it. I've had access to my computer since yesterday or so, but I've been a bit slow with the update. Why? Because this next part is easily the absolute worst part of this game and I did not want to fucking play it. But you know what? I suffered through it for you guys, because we're like a big, happy family here at the Let's Play Persona 2 thread. Well, that and I was pretty sure somebody was going to Toxx clause me if I didn't do it. So without further ado...

Here's what's been happening up until now: Maya's a mute reporter, Ulala sells lingerie and basically says and does absolutely nothing worth mentioning, Katsuya's a highly naive cop, Baofu's a criminal jackass and also the coolest guy since the Fonz, and Ellen's a model who has really creepy stalkers. They all have superpowers based around summoning their conveniently-hotswappable inner selves. They're after Tatsuzou Sudou, who's basically a gigantic walking cock. Baofu is also after Yung Pao, who has an amusing accent and is evil. Right now they're going to a factory because they got a tip that they could nail both Yung Pao and Tatsuzou there.

Alternatively, fellow goon Lache summed it up in haiku form:

Baofu kicks ass.

Now that that's done, Let's Play.

At the factory, the team immediately runs into a huge group of Chinese Mafia, along with Yung Pao himself.
Ulala: Hey...Why do you hate them so much...?
Katsuya: ...
Not a second later, Metal Fucking Gear makes its entrance...
...and, along with a group of soldiers, basically slaughters everyone but Yung Pao and our crew.
The team barely makes it behind a crate before they're turned into Swiss cheese, but Baofu's headed off on his own.
Ulala: What's going on? What the hell is going on here?!
Ulala: What?! So then, Baofu...Oh, crap, we have to tell him!
Katsuya: Worry about yourself. I'm sure he knows...
Ulala: What? What did you just say...

Okay, so. This is the shittiest dungeon ever. EVER. We're going to quickly rush through it, as it's basically entirely filler and there's a goddamned conveyor belt maze and frankly I think I still have deep-set emotional scars from dealing with it again.

See? Conveyor belts have never been fun. Why anybody would put them in a video game at this point, I have no idea.
Oh, a password-locked door! More original ideas from the intern who designed the factory dungeon.
After some fiddling around with the easily-beaten-yet-time-consuming conveyor belt maze, we quickly find the password to the locked door...
...and grab a random magazine from a nearby cabinet before we go.
Here's the locked door, and with the password...
...we can get in and use the control panel...
...to mess with the conveyor belts. Basically we reverse them and can now use them to get different places. Don't worry about it, trust me.
Nearly immediately after this, we're at our boss. Yeah, that was the whole dungeon.
We take a second to finish mapping this place in the hopes that we never have to come to this Hellhole again...
and head on out, where Baofu's having a standoff with Yung Pao.
Yung Pao: Can't you let me go...?
Baofu: Can't do that, buddy...
Yung Pao: I see...
With that, they leap out and fire at each other.
They're both wounded...
...but Baofu managed to make it out in much better condition than Yung Pao.
Just before Baofu finishes off Yung Pao, Katsuya and the rest of the team bursts in.
Ulala: No way...a prosecutor...
Katsuya: It wasn't a trip, nor was it an accident...The Minister of Justice covered it up...I didn't know...
Baofu: Shut up, Suou...You don't know anything...
Katsuya: You knew your tap was found. You knew this was a trap. You made us stall them so you could kill him.
Ulala: I-is that true...?
Suddenly, Baofu turns and aims a rifle at the party.
Katsuya: We have to arrest him...I know how you feel, but don't kill him. We need him to testify against Tatsuzou.
Ulala: Stop!!
Baofu fires, but ends up taking down a soldier instead of the team.
The soldier, however, didn't come alone, as Metal Fucking Gear attacks.
This particular model of Metal Fucking Gear, the X-1, isn't too talkative.
We also can't run away from it.
We wish we could, because it's a pain in the ass to fight. Combined with extremely high defense against absolutely everything but Lightning magic, it uses a skill called Muramasa Copy that disables our characters' Personas. Fortunately only one person can be disabled at at ime.
Aside from that, it uses 81mm Cannon L16 to damage all members...
...and M249MINNI to damage a single member.
Lightning magic works great, especially since it's basically the only thing that works at all. That, the fact that it really doesn't do all that much damage, and Nata's Tetrakarn ability (which allows us to reflect all of the X-1's attacks back at it) mean that it's not long before the bot's turned to scrap metal.

Baofu: Don't worry, he'll be joining you shortly...I'll make sure of that...
Baofu turns back to the party.
Katsuya: I knew you wouldn't...It's not your style...
Baofu still tries to put on the mysterious act, but well, he's gone from being a mysterious douchebag to just a douchebag.
Ellen stops being a filler character for a minute and reminds everyone that we've got a fucking job to do and we need to get our asses in gear. So after some sidequesting, we're off to the Nichirinmaru!
