Part 46: Episode 3, Day 2, Trial: Is Anyone Really Buying This?
Sound: Realization
Right, we left off with a bold claim from Ms. Oldbag.

Sound: Stab 2
Sound: Stab 2
Both attorneys are shocked, cut to the heart, really.

Sound: Whack
Maybe this won't be entirely bad for us?

Sound: Testimony 2
Music: Questioning - Moderato

Not really. Vague, crappy testimony, impossible to disprove. What are we supposed to do with that?

Music: Silence

Good idea as any I guess!

Yikes, stay down, lady!

Sound: Whack
Hey, this is your witness, deal with it!

Sound: Realization

Well, isn't that convenient!

Sound: Realization

Just a straight line right there.

And can't corroborate your crazy story!

Huh? Then how did he kill the victim with it later?

Sound: Realization

I guess that's some strong duct tape, if it held up to a stabbing a couple hours later. In fact, you can see in the flashback image above (behind the partially-transparent text box) that the spear head has broken off.

Isn't that what she just said?

Maybe it really is Powers, and we're barking up the wrong tree here? Also you can kind of see the duct tape wrapped around where the spear head joins the shaft.

Great, dueling desk slams.

That press loops us back to the same line of testimony. Running through all of the testimony then just gives us a reminder to keep pressing...

Once we've messed around long enough, some hidden timer expires and Edgeworth butts in...

Sound: Desk Slam

Sound: Realization
Damn, judge, that's a fantastic question!

Sound: Realization
So Powers wasn't wearing it when the body was discovered? And no one thought that was odd, because no one but Oldbag (and I guess Gumshoe) knew that it was someone wearing the costume that had gone to the studio...

Have you tried looking in Studio Two? There must be a reason it's mysteriously inaccessible...

Clear? This case is even shakier than the one against Maya last episode.
Music: Suspense

Uhh, we object, duh.

Sound: Desk Slam

Sound: Objection

I don't like that look...
quote:
It doesn't seem like it should, but waiting instead of objecting still ends up with the same result:
(I think I'll wait and see where this goes.)
I suppose, since there weren't any additional crew members at the studios that day...
It's quite likely that it was the defendant inside that costume.
I see no problem with this evidence.
Most perceptive, Your Honor!
(He still doesn't seem that convinced to me... I hope.)

What's to continue? Not that I'm complaining about getting another shot at this.

That's it? I am completely out of ideas. That just looks the same as her first set of testimony.

Yeah, we heard all that the first time around.

Hey, that's actually a valid legal objection for once!

I guess he isn't a fan of the nickname, either. Anyway, running through to the end of the testimony gets us more time with Maya:

Uh, thanks, Maya.

Sound: Whoops

I was confused when first recording this update, but I think I figured it out while writing it up. Can you?
