Part 34: Player Choices,

Player Choices, Part 2

I also have a couple of last Pokémon to offer, if you'd like to see them on the team; I didn't think I'd have the time to EV train them, but that fortunately did not turn out to be the case. The next proper update will likely be next week.

V-Terminal - Linoone: Pickup, Jolly w/ Lum Berry (Lv. 50, M, Poké Ball):
Extremespeed, Shadow Ball, Belly Drum, Flail [Pokémon Box->FireRed]
 EVs: 192 HP / 252 Atk / 10 Def / 56 Spe. IVs: 10 / 25 / 18 / 31 / 27 / 27
Linoone Base Stats: 78/70/61/50/61/100
Extremespeed is a 80 base power, 100% Accuracy Normal-type attack that has +1 Priority, effectively letting it go first over most other attacks of 0 or less Priority. Belly Drum is a Normal-type attack that brings the user's Attack stage to +6 (effectively three Sword Dances from Base) at the cost of 50% of its maximum HP. Coupled with Belly Drum and STAB, Extremespeed's base power effectively becomes 480. Fortunately, Linoone has great Speed and good Attack to work off of.
This moveset became more effective in Gen 4, where Linoone gained access to Seed Bomb, a physical 80 base power Grass-type attack, and Shadow Claw, a Ghost-type reskin of Slash. Even more useful is access to a new ability, Gluttony, which allows it to activate certain varieties of berries at half-HP, when it would normally do so at one quarter-HP, allowing it to combo well with Belly Drum. It is even less accessable in Gen 4, requiring access to the Pal Park in a DS game (and, by extension, Pokémon Box, a Gen 3 GBA Pokémon game, and a DS/DS Lite), as well as relying on the 50% chance that the ability will switch upon evolution from Zigzagoon to Linoone after the Pal Parking.

OnMyTabby - Delcatty: Cute Charm, Careful w/ Amulet Coin (Lv. 50, F, Poké Ball):
Pay Day, Shadow Ball, Heal Bell, Assist [Pokémon Box->Emerald]
 EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Spe. IVs: 21 / 16 / 24 / 27 / 10 / 18
Delcatty Base Stats: 70/65/65/55/55/70
Pay Day is a 40 base power, 100% Accuracy Normal-type attack that flings coins at its opponent. After the battle, the winning trainer will pick up P$(ten times the level of the Pokémon using the attack) for each time the attack was used. The Amulet Coin item doubles money won at the end of the match, both from the opposing trainer as well as from usage of Pay Day. (Pay Day is the signature move of the Meowth-Persian evolution line.) Assist is a Normal-type attack that randomly selects a move from a Pokémon on your team, and uses it as if it was its own. It is the signature move of the Skitty-Delcatty evolution line. As you can see, Delcatty is not graced by any particularly good stats, but it does have its entertainment value.

Last, I have a Pichu sitting in the wings that has access to Surf; we could use it as a Pichu, Pikachu, or Raichu, if wanted, and a shiny Lileep, Prof. Lily, my main Pokemon for Gen 3/4 contests, a gimmick unimportant to just about everything.
