Tonight we have a special on a stream of bizzare murders and disappearances in lower-Johto regions, dubbed by local news agencies as the "New-Bark Masher".
The case started with a stream of disappearances and strange deaths in the town of New Bark, both of man and pokemon. While at first suspected to be caused by a criminal organization of the likes of "Team Rocket", the depravity of slaughter left experts baffled.
"Team Rocket is one evil bunch," said famed Pokemon Professor, Professor Samuel Oak, "But it's because of a general greed, not some specific depravity. This is uncharacteristic of the organization."
Investigators none the less pursued this line, but came up with no evidence, even in the light of recent criminal activities by Team Rocket.
Strangely, the stream of killings and disappearances has been moving further away from New Bark Town; connections have been made with disappeareances and bloody killings in Cherrygrove City and even as far as Violet City. Despite this large range of attacks, attacks seem to occur New Bark town one day and farther away at Violet City in another, and back again, which has left Investigators baffled.
We asked a local Pokemon expert, Professor Elm, a resident of New Bark town, his opinion on the matter.
"While the degree and manner of these killings could be attributed to a Pokemon, indeed, no Pokmemon in existance is this predatorially strong and violent." Professor Elm stated in response to our inquiries. "The scope of deaths and disappearances thus far could never be achieved by a single Pokemon, or even a small group. It's beyond their means and behavior. No Pokemon could commit such violent and yet intelligently-achieved atrocities."
"It is currently believed by our investigation that the 'New Bark Masher' is in fact two or more human serial killers." Officer Jenny of Cherry Grove City said in a recent Press Conference on the ongoing investigation. "We are persuing all available leads at this time, and hope for an immediate resolve to the investigation in the future."
Currently there have been twenty three known Pokemon disappearances, eight known missing persons, sixteen known Pokemon killings, and seven known murders currently attributed to the "New-Bark Masher".

The Johto Police are currently recommending that anyone in the Lower-Johto area ranging from New-Bark Town to Azalea Town and from Azalea Town to Violet City to be on the lookout for any unusual individuals or Pokemon, and to report any such sightings to any nearby Johto Police Department.
Police are also recommending a buddy system for all residents of CHERRYGROVE CITY and NEW BARK TOWN, and to avoid going outside without having ample POKEMON.
