Introduction
Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One is an oddity among the rest of the series. While the rest of the games prior to this one had mostly been about a single person running around a couple different really weird worlds, killing the indigenous life forms for money to buy better weapons to kill indigenous life forms faster with, focusing on either the shooting or the platforming, All 4 One decided to mix it up a bit. Instead, it's one of those "co-op" games that have become so popular lately. You know, the kind that actually pits you in a competition against each other while expecting you to work as a team?
Released in 2011 by Insomniac, All 4 One is a sequel to A Crack In Time. If you don't remember what happened in that game, you should watch the LP (linked below), but here's the short version: Dr. Nefarious wants to control time, tricks Clank into doing that for him, Ratchet stops him with a lombax uncle-figure bud who ends up going insane and trying to do the same thing as Dr. Nefarious and then dies trying to stop it when it goes catastrophically wrong. This game picks up about two years after that.
The Ratchet and Clank games, before this point, had a bit of a reputation. With the exception of Deadlocked, the major console games had been cartoony platformers where a single person goes through a bunch of enemies, blowing them up, and repeats the process as they hop from planet to planet. All 4 One shakes this up by having most of the action take place on one planet, having four people do the work that one used to do, and... that's about it, honestly, at least at first.
Most of my LPs have been post-commentary, informative, with what some would say "obsessive" need to show where all the gold bolts are located. Because All 4 One is so different, so too will be the LP. It's a mostly-blind run (some levels kinda fucked up and we had to do multiple times), with live commentary... and friends. Yes, I brought in three
SPOILER ALERT: YELLOW
The story isn't exactly what you would call "deep" or "insightful", but please tag spoilers.
Please excuse the tunnel commentary on my end for the first two videos. I switch microphones in the third video so it won't be as bad after that.
