Galen is a paladin and champion of Azuth, the lesser god of mages, who is seeking his lost sister Risa. At some time in the past Risa was kidnapped by the Zhentil and rather than head for Zhentarim Keep like a rational person he has instead been wandering the land in search of her. Considering his rather shaky grasp on geography, this could take a while.
Name: Kedzie
Race: Half-Elf
Class: Fighter/Thief
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Kedzie is a born loser, born a loser by virtue of being a half-elf in Baldur's gate. Growing up poor you take every attempt to improve your lot in life whether through petty theft or outright burglary, although for some reason every time she thinks she's getting ahead something comes along to slap her right back down. Becoming an adventurer is her chance to make something of herself, and finally get out of the gutter and have more than a few coins to clink together in her pocket.

Class: Fighter
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Being noble enough to have a last name but not noble enough to afford more than a suit of armor, a sword, and some lessons in swordsmanship, Alaric is determined to make a name for himself. Alaric isn't willing to join an order of Paladins, and he's a little bit stuck up and concerned with his own status and importance, but most people agree that he grows on you as you get to know him. Alaric is a firm believer in the concept of knightly honor and the rule of law, sometimes losing track of the plight of the common people in the shuffle.
Name: Vermunt Farsea
Race: Human
Class: Cleric
Alignment: Chaotic Good
An inveterate wanderer, Vermunt is a classic follower of the goddess Selune, following her dictates and wandering the wild places of the world in the spirit of his deity. He can never settle down in one place, and certainly can't bring himself to take a regular position as a priest. Instead he quests for the drops of the moon, a nearly impossible task that should give him all the reason he needs to adventure until his wanderlust ceases.
Name: Zanros
Race: Elf
Class: Wizard
Alignment: Lawful Evil*
The two things you most need to know about Zanros is that he loves fire and hates restraint. The other couple hundred things you need to know about Zanros is which things will act as a trigger for him to lose his restraint and indulge his love of fire on you. Zanros lives by his own code, and punishes anyone who breaks it whether they know it or not. His overzealous pursuit of his ideal got him kicked out of his village since things like "friendly fire" don't enter anywhere into his beliefs, but luckily caravan masters don't really care about niceties when it comes to killing bandits and anyone who gets crisped before they collect their pay is someone who's never going to collect their pay.
*Changed to Chaotic Neutral in the game because I'm not allowed to have an evil character and a paladin in the same group.

Nobody knows where he came from, and nobody knows where he's going, but The Dude Abides. Possibly the mellowest wizard you'll ever meet, The Dude just wants to have a good time and not get hassled, you know? Mystery surrounds him and follows him, and to deal with it he's become a wizard of sorts. Just go with it, okay?
