Part 120: Solomon's Trials

Okay, let's head back to Goreme Valley and finish the pit fights.

Well, I keep doing these trials, but for every one I complete, there seem to be two new ones to do!
As you overcome the trials, your power gets ever closer to that of King Solomon. Don't you feel honored?

I think you get the idea of the trials by now, so I'll just put up the videos of the fights. The prize for this trial is Warlock Earrings.




The prize for this one is the Shax Crest. (Air Resist, Dark Resist)




The prize is Gold Band, an accessory for Joachim that makes him turn into his Gold Bat form more often.




These fights have an enemy that only shows up in the Trials, Mini Tanukis. We get a Seventh Key for winning.




We get a Silver Angel for winning.




This time, we get another Ultra Belt.




We get a weapon for Yuri, Dragonfangs. These will never get used, since I already got his ultimate weapon.




The prize is Dark Angel.




We get another Joachim-exclusive accessory, Electro Band. This one makes him transform into Grand Papillon more often.





At last the time has come... It's time to break the seal of the final trial...
It's really the last one?
Yes, it is. The last one!



No, it really is the last one...
You promise? Even if you come up with any more, I'm not doing them!
I said it's the last one! If you keep that up, there will be more trials!



I can't get mad! I've given everything, even my emotions, to King Solomon... Now, the final trial...


These are just standard fights, except for the last one. The last one is...interesting.


It's another enemy unique to the trials, Tin Lion. The first thing you'll notice is that he's fast. He actually starts out with the first turn in the fight.


Which means that you'll very shortly notice that he one-shots whomever he hits. (Also, if you let him get to about his third turn, he'll cast a spell that takes out the entire party, meaning you have to do the entire trial over.) The good news is, he only has one hit point.


The bad news is, he's completely immune to ALL damage, physical and magical. So, how do you beat him?


The answer is with the Ring Add-on effects. Here, I won when Yuri hit him with the Petrify status. Instant Death also works, and so does Poison, Poison damage being the only damage he will take.

You've overcome all of the trials... Now if you just solve King Solomon's Enigma, you'll be admitted... You must decipher the enigma... You must unlock the Key... Then there's one final duty I must carry out...


For finishing Solomon's Trials, we get Gepetto's Ultimate Armor.


Now, let's go back to Japan and check on Yoshiko.

Huh? Work? W-what are you going to do?
