Part 65: Hanging With Tom
January 2nd, 1987 Ryo accepts. Oh boy. Oh, a jumping roundhouse. Cool. Forward, Forward, A? All right, got this down. Seems like a pretty decent move. Okay then... Say what? Tom picks up a bottle just lying around. Tosses it in the air... And shatters it on the way down. I don't know if Ryo got the name, he's a bit preoccupied with eyefuls of glass shards. So we get a jumping forward roundhouse... Followed by a reverse roundhouse from the opposite leg. It's a decent move to use against the lackeys, but it's a tad too slow for practical use against faster or better opponents. For some reason, the mood takes a sudden dive. Oh God... What might this be? Oh. Oh, phew. Man, everybody's leaving Japan by the boatloads. Certainly not a bloodthirsty quest for vengeance. Drat! Found out! Great, now a lecture about how Ryo shouldn't throw his life away... Or not? Hooray! Oh yes, best friends plan to leave the country and don't tell each other until the day before said departure. Of course, Ryo doesn't have many friends, so Tom probably does qualify as one of the best. They partake in a hand ritual which I doubt originated from Japan. Another scene where it is suggested Ryo eats. So, uh, after apparently hanging out all afternoon, Ryo watches Tom's plane depart. Wait, I thought he said he wasn't leaving until tomorrow? ... Whatever. Now that the pleasantries are over, it's time for Ryo to carry out his end of the deal with Terry.
