Update 24: The end of the Mantra


First things first, going back top Ikebukuro. Since that's where the Nightmare System was fired. One must see the results.

And inside the building... We meet her. Again. Once more.

"I heard about the trial by combat, and I thought it might be you who was the winner.
Getting here was tough, to say the least... But I am glad I made it."
Hell, for Insert the journey was hard enough, and he is a goddamn demon with powerful allies.
On the other hand, he does have several fiends tracking him, and had to face that asshat Dante. Well, he technically is a fiend too, but eh, whatever. It could have been easier.
Dumb, on the other hand, is aa "normal" human with no special skills, and no demons. Getting to Ikebukuro must have been hell for her. Probably a bit better than what Sidekick had to endure, though.


"There is something I want to tell you. I decided to play by the rules of this world. You know what the purpose of this new world is, right?"
Of course, Hikawa already said it. It is here to determine the shape of the reborn world



"... You probably think I am crazy. But, I remembered that voice... That voice I heard when the world changed... You must've heard it too, Insert, since you survived."
She probably means Kagutsuchsisichasifhweofoc. Or was there another voice? Surely not the kid's, since that was an external action. One that would remove Insert's status as a "human".




"Not just about what I have to do in this world, but why the world ended up like this. And then I realized that there were too many innecesary things occupying the previos world."

"But, nothing new was being made, time passed and nothing changed. What the world really needed, it was not getting."
And... What the hell did it need? What was needed by the world, yet was not being made?



"It's true that I lost everything. It was the saddest thing imaginable. But I survived the Conception. I was chosen... That's what I am going to believe, and now I have to look forward. I still feel a great sadness in my heart... But if I can swallow it down, endless possibilities await...

Well, Insert is definitely stronger than you, shut up.

No more useless stuff? Pah! Variety is the spice of life! If only the "worthy" things existed it would be a rather uninteresting world.
Still, less crappy than the Nihilo's option.


"That's too bad. I was hoping you would understand. But, no matter what you say, I won't change my mind."

"Honestly, I don't know where to begin. But since Yosuga is the Reason of the strong, I'll see what I can do on my own first. I am glad that we had the chance to talk today. We both survived the Conception... I am sure that we will cross paths again. See you later, Insert."
Now, this is rather important. Why? Humans are the ones that can concieve reasons. They have the will, the imagination, the oportunity. Demons cannot. Manikins cannot. It is the privilege of the humans.
And thus, the gift of the Magatama is also a curse. It gives power, it gives the ability to do things. It does not remove the ability to choose, but it DOES destroy the chance one had to make one's own reason. The choice is there, but Insert is not able to formulate his own reason. He can only follow.


And she is gone. Creepy.





Clearly the demons there are in pain. They have no idea what is happening. They depended on their strenght, and it is failing them now.

This guy, while still sane, has weird priorities. Maybe he was in love with Yuko? Well, in any case, he is fucked. Everyone knows that the one favored by Yuko was Insert.

"Hey, here is my good friend Insert, who happens to be a very, very, extremely freaking powerful demondude, surely, there is no way that I would have a better chance of survival by travelling with him, helping him and recieving help in exchange, no sir!
