Introduction

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords and Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO are a series of Star Wars games that take place thousands of years before the main storyline of Star Wars that starts in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. If you were to look at their Wookiepedia entries you would see that the three games are part of the Legends line of canonocity which means that they are not canon to the main storyline of Star Wars. This was a directive passed down by Disney shortly after they bought Lucasarts, Lucasfilm and all of the other related properties. I don't personally believe they aren't canon simply because how far into the past they take place because since they take place thousands of years in the past whatever happens in these games really has no bearing on the rest of the Star Wars storyline anyway.

First of all, I will only be Let's Playing KotOR and KotOR II because there is already an ongoing thread for Star Wars: The Old Republic and it is very good and you should check it out. Now on to the topic of why I am Let's Playing the first two games. I am doing this thread for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens opens in theaters in a couple weeks and I thought this would be a perfect time to go back and revisit these classic games. The second reason is that I have checked out the previoius threads in the Let's Play archive and I noticed something interesting. The Let's Play of KotOR on the archive wasn't using the Restored Content Patch that I will be using and the Let's Play of KotOR II didn't use the completed Restored Content Patch that I will be using. I will be pointing out where there is restored content as we come to each point where there is some. For KotOR:
The thread will be voting on the character head and job classes for the main character. The thread will be who decides the order of the planets we visit once we have the ability to choose our next destination. Once we are able to choose our own party then the thread will decide that as well. I will be going for the canon romance, though, so that means I will end up being a male, light-side Jedi.

For TSL:
Thread gets to choose just about everything character and recruitable ally related.

I will be uploading two episodes per week. One on Monday and one on Friday.

Don't worry too much about spoilers as long as you use the proper spoiler tags because even though both of these games are at least a decade old there may still be some people who haven't played them yet.
