Part 2: Operation Torskblast: Turns 1-2

Mission 1: Turns 1-2

Something that just occurred to me: We need an awesome name for this mission.



Swedes have the most awesome names. Case in point, the HQ is led by Överstelöjtnant Stromberg. You can't make that up.

Our foremost tank has moved forward a fair bit in the first few turns. Still no sign of Norwegians though.



And this may be the reason why: Infantry move at a crawl through any sort of complex terrain.

Almost any terrain that is not a road will have an inevitable slowdown effect, but roads are uncommon and provide terrible cover. Consider this dichotomy while making your command decisions.



Meanwhile, our troops south of the road are moving at about the same pace, along with Pimpmust's tank.



Our AT units have skis, if you'll recall. They have the option to move ahead of our main force if you feel like taking advantage of this option.

Here is the position of most of our units at the end of turn 2. The first rounds of a match are generally composed of infantry walking towards the objectives.



The first objective is within line of sight, and there's a good chance that our forces will reach it before the enemy. However, I was not kidding when I said that the objectives are in vulnerable locations.



The second objective could probably be captured next turn by the Strv 121 if you feel like risking it. This could be helpful because it's probably going to become a killing field in a few turns.

So to recap: The vast majority of our forces is moving slowly across the snow or supporting the units moving across the snow. The HQ and bodyguard .50 Cal are moving close behind the main force. All of the spare units (The independent Section, the AT section and one of the sniper teams) are accompanying Pimpmust's tank to the south of the force).

The only unit separate from all of this is Sam's tank, which is overlooking the gap to the west of the two northern objectives.

All in all, not much has occurred. However, considering we already have line of sight going well beyond the middle line, combat will probably be initiated next turn. Consider your next moves wisely, men; Stromberg out (What a fucking awesome name!).
