Part 6: Operation Torskblast: Turns 9-10
Operation Torskblast: Turns 9-10Since:
A) The Norweigans are fielding inferior infantry force
B) The Swedish lines are still forming
C) Neither Norweigan or Swedish infantry are in attack range
The Swedes decide to engage only with heavy weaponry for the time being. The Norweigans are punished severely for every step, and they are still quite a few steps away from creating a decent attacking formation.
The Swedes also take a more defensive stance, letting the Homeguard Squads come to them so they can get massacred by fire from tanks, machineguns and the Lvkv 90.
The Strv 121 behind Norweigan lines continues to get work done. It demolishes another "anti-tank" vehicle and lets out a burst of fire at one of the mortar teams, that pins it immediately.
There are more teams, apparently, because the main Swedish force comes under attack for the first time. A barrage of mortar fire falls harmlessly between Swedish and Norweigans troops. Another barrage falls near the Swedish position, but their are no casualties reported.
Meanwhile, the suppressed mortar team is destroyed by another tank round. But the real prize for the attacking tank was just about to show up.
The Norweigan HQ team is ambushed and cut down by several bursts of machinegun fire. In just three turns, the enemy chain of command is snipped from the top.
Missing File: 2iabv60.pngWe'll get this as soon as we can — however it might just be gone forever, sorry! If you know where we can find it, please get in contact
Armed only with MP7's and a small amount of fragmentation grenades, there would be little the HQ could do to the Main Battle Tank even if they were given the opportunity to fire, so they start fleeing after only one round of attacks.
There are also a few Surface to Air Missile Teams around the area. I find the AI is pretty good at fighting battles, but they are prone to choosing the dumbest units. The BV 206N TOW systems are marginally dangerous, and the SAM teams are outright point sinks, and they account for most of the force (Well, not anymore).
The Norweigans are making very little progress; their squads are being pushed back faster than they are advancing, and remember that they are gradually losing men, whereas we have (I believe) not taken a casualty so far.
Here is the current front of the battle.
And here is the current context of the infiltrating Strv 121 (which has already paid for itself in kill points).
So, what next? Just so you guys know, I genuinely think this match is possible without any losses whatsoever.
