Part 10: Operation Red Afternoon: Deployment and Opening Action
Operation Red Afternoon: Deployment and Opening ActionWe can deploy up to a third into the map, which is a long distance.
To the North is a Tank Platoon, a Mechanised Infantry Platoon, a Scout Group (with a sniper in the BTR-40 with the Scouts) and an SAM system.
To the South is an identical force.
In the middle is all of our spare units, the HQ, the third Mechanised Platoon and the T-80B Platoon. Ignore the exposed infantry; this screencap was taken before I clicked the load all units button.
Normally the post would end here, except there's something you should all probably know.
Apparently part of the NATO strategy in this battle is to light the entire Fulda Gap on fire. Fortunately, the Napalm strike missed our BMP's entirely, and don't have enough power to destroy a T-80, but...
Fearing the end of the world, two of Hob_Gadling's tanks have decided to drive the fuck away from the explosions. One of them is merely retreating and can probably be rallied, but one of them is routing and will not be coming back.
This is the image of the B-52 Napalm bomber. Assuming those are the only problems they cause (there were 3 of them), they heven't paid for their points cost yet (Not even half assuming the one tank returns).
So, now what do we do?
EDIT: If your wondering, the reason the Krug Missiles didn't evaporate these bombers out of the sky is the EW (Electronic Warfare) score, which is essentially an aircraft evasion stat.
