Part 12: Operation Red Afternoon: NATO Turn 1
Operation Red Afternoon: NATO Turn 1The American shock and awe tactics don't let up during their own turn. Several American helicopters start swarming into view and a torrent of .50 Caliber fire rushes out to meet them.
I'm just going to go out and say it: Ursinius is getting the shittiest luck ever this match. This AH-1Q Cobra spent an entire minute firing on one of the BTR-40's and managed to do nothing but button it. With all of these layered airstrikes against our positions, we haven't actually suffered a casualty yet.
One of the TOW Cobras went out of view after it was fired upon, so I don't know if it was withdrawn or it retreated (if it was the latter, Ursinius may be down a 300+ point helicopter already).
Most of the helicopters out there are Hueys. These things were already kind of old by the time 'nam ended. They don't pose any sort of noticable threat to our armoured forces.
The US Riflemen aren't really a threat to our forces either. I suppose if they ambushed us from cover they may have a chance at doing some damage, but that doesn't change the fact that even the side armour of the T-80's are a hard target for an M72 LAW.
I am afraid of the more modernised TOW missiles, though. A straight shot to the front armour of a T-80 will dispatch it.
There are also 2 of them storming the center of the map as fast as humanly possible, so we may want to address this whilst planning our next turn.
So yeah; 1 turn in, and this is more interesting than the first 10 turns of our last match.
