Part 128: Soviet Turn 0
Well, this will be kind of a short match, but goonadvice is always appreciated.Additionally, the next one-on-one match should be discussed as this one is going on - this means a volunteer or two would be nice. This match will probably be over soon depending on Soviet aggression levels (which are always extremely high).
Speaking of which, here's the deployed line-up for this match:
Soviet Turn 0
Ther core of our force will be a Platoon of T-64 tanks and a Company of Infantry mounted in BTR-60s.
Fire support will be provided by nearby 152mm Howitzers and MiG-23 Strike Fighters.
Scout infantry and Snipers will be heading up the assault in order to probe and disrupt the enemy defenses prior to engagement.
Initial deployment is currently as follows:
A force in the south will secure the urban region here as well as the nearby foothills, in order to make sure that if the grassy strip in the south-centre becomes a killzone, it becomes our killzone. Southern forces will attack into the woods after other locations can be secured.
The central and northern forces are kind of amalgamated together.
The encircled village will be held by forward troops supported by any nearby available mechanised and armoured forces long enough for (at least) a Mechanised Platoon to occupy the treeline to the north.
Initial artillery and aerial strikes will precede the mission, hopefully suppressing hostile forces long enough for our forces to position themselves.
Once initial objectives have been quickly secured, the other half of the battlefield will have to be taken segment by segment. plans from then on out will be largely dependent on the enemy forces present and disposition thereof.
Any questions?
