Part 131: Soviet Turn 3
Well, this was an interesting turn.Soviet Turn 3
The southern forest is stormed, but not without losses. A BTR-40 and BTR-60 are both lost (but both empty at the time).
This next Bunker guarding the region is now buttoned, and under significant threat from all sides.
A Machinegun Team (two, in fact) are spotted guarding the northern section of the map, and they end up dispersing a scout team, but both of them are then annihilated by a T-64 aided by BTRs.
This breakthrough allows the APCs in the area to unload most of the remaining men in the village, just a few hexes away from some VPs.
There are a few infantry units overlooking the center of the map, including both some Reserve sections and some B-10 recoilless rifles. By the end of the push into the center, only a single pinned and outflanked B-10 remains, although the Reserve troops may pose a threat.
This is posted out of order, but after the turn is ended, a lone J-6 strafed one of our T-64 tanks and destroyed it with a lucky shot. Sad, but there is an additional T-64 in the center that can pick up the slack. I'm surprised Coiler took air support with the low amount of points he was given. It seems to have worked out for him, though.
We took a few more losses this turn than would have been appreciated, but we have several small breakthroughs to show for it. Another turn or two like this and the Albanian VPs will rapidly disappear, which is really the only point of each match (human lives be damned). That said, Coiler is actually putting up a solid fight, which I really did not expect (So Coiler, if you're cheating and reading this, keep up the good work!)
