Part 18: Operation Red Afternoon: NATO Turn 4
Operation Red Afternoon: NATO Turn 4The enemy turn starts off with the cobra engaging one of the T-80B's. The first salvo it fires off accomplishes nothing, but the next one destroys it (which is frustrating because the missile only had a 20% hit chance).
The attacks convince a nearby T-80B to counterattack the Cobra, which in turn results in the Cobra firing back and destroying a second T-80B.
And, like in some horrifying game of ping-pong, a third T-80B fires back in retaliation, with similar results.
The real kick in the teeth here is that the ATGM's from the T-80B's had several serious chances to destroy the Cobra, but while none of them hit the target, almost all of the TOW's did.
We did however, hit the Cobra with some Machinegun rounds and cause one point of damage.
I suppose the only good thing that's happened to us this turn (read: the entire match) is that one of our BMP-1P's destroyed a Scorpion with an ATGM.
That totally makes up for everything.
It also fired at a Marder A1, but failed to hit it.
