Obong-Ni Ridge: The Final Turn




Since this is the final turn, we really want to rack up as many points as we can. This means killing whoever we can kill...

(I also called in the artillery and air support again. I have know idea why I did that considering the game is guaranteed to end before they show up again; Force of habit, I guess).





...and taking whatever we can take...

I was going to just rest on my laurels this turn, but I was given strict orders to fix bayonets; now there is no melee combat in this game (with the sole exception of assaulting vehicles), so I interptreted that order to mean 'take a counteroffensive'.

It turns out that was very good advice, because for whatever reason, the North Koreans don't get a last turn (too lazy, I guess), meaning the USMC gets the last word in this mission. I played through the final turn twice, once with the same passive strategy I was using, and once with the updated orders.





Wait, what? It made that much of a difference - and we would have lost if - but.

I suppose in light of this, I must hereby award raptus the highest military honour available to this thread: The Order of You Saved Our Shit, First Class, for winning a mission despite the best efforts of both friend and foe.

In any case, this mission is now over, and we have already made some preparations for the next one. As soon as we can determine

A) The exact year
B) The point value
C) The handicap (Sam. and I were thinking around 2 - 2.5) for the amphibious invaders.
D) How many allies Sam. will be allowed to take from other Scandanavian Factions.

The next mission will begin. You have your orders.

In addition, I will be posting the detailed information pertaining to the end of the mission sometime later today.
