Part 80: November Cod Crisis: Canadian Turn 15
Hm, since we seem to have hit the standard issue end of match posting drought, everyone start posting your ideas about the next match? Do you like Sam's idea? If not, what would you prefer? If you do, which time period should this be in? Allies? Also, which formations/what type of battle would you like to see?November Cod Crisis: Canadian Turn 15
The heavy treeline has effectively split the western force into a small western force and a massive central force.
The western unit is slowly moving along the coastline, with nearby support from the three PT Boats.
The central force is slowly creeping up. No enemy units have been encountered, but there are a few VP's nearby, so we may only be one or two turns away from having our primary objective secured.
The southern Panzer Bunker doesn't get destroyed this turn. Rather the southern contingent of the eastern force moves within threatening range. We should be prepared to strike next turn, though. I doubt we'll need this because the central force is close enough to those points, but having another bunker down would make our job down here a lot easier.
Meanwhile, the northern contingent gets a lucky shot on the bunker. A scout unit ran up to the thing, dodged a point blank shot from the bunker due to the panicked shot (random event that occurs if the enemy is close), was down to two rifle volleys, and assaults the bunker for the kill. How do you assault a bunker with bullets?
Regardless, another World War II era bunker lies dead on the beachhead.
Spacewise, this was a really good turn. Next turn, we will have hopefully taken the northern VP's and secured the area, and the same can be said of the south the turn after if things go well.
But yeah, I can see that the game is starting to play itself, so we should start discussing next match.
My 2 cents: We should do at least one match with old post-war technology. This means either the 40's - mid 50's with a modern nation or 40's to early 60's with a less modern nation.
Also, we need to start coming up with an explanation for how the Canadian invasion of Iceland would result in a war between Norway and Sweden so many decades later.
