: Well excuuuuuse me, I'll be more careful in the future.
Patient Villager: OK, apology accepted. Try to be more careful in the future!

The Bard remembered through his dreadful hangover that one of the villagers suggested he visit the broch beside the pub, although he couldn't remember why.

Ogan's Mum

Ogan's mum: Ye've come looking for my boy Ogan, haven't you!?
The Bard tried to interrupt "No, actuall-"

Ogan's mum: Of course ye have. But it's gone he is, for he's the one, the Chosen One, who'll free the fair Princess from cruel bondage. And what do ye suppose that means to a poor old woman like me?

: "Well I dunn-"
Ogan's mum: Why, everything, that's what. For he's promised to come back, my Ogan, and take me away from this awful place and give me a proper house, with glass in the windows, floors of wood, and a larder so full we'll never know hunger again. So when you see him, tell him his mother loves him.
: Yeah, sure thing there, mum.

The Bard quickly stepped outside before the woman could start speaking again.

"Sheesh," the Bard said, "Did someone tattoo 'Errand Boy' on my forehead after I passed out last night, or something?"

After one last drink at the pub, the Bard headed for the town gate. Sheriff Rucky was waiting for him.

Rucky - Ketill Free

WHAT IF: Ketill is dead? (Rucky)

Sheriff Rucky: Hang you for a meddlin' fool! It's one thing to be frightenin' the widows and killin' the rats, but you've up and set loose that pig-stealin', back-stabbing Ketill Swart. Well, laddie, he's takin' to hiding in the Neversdale forest, and you're the one that's going after him. So, you just head outta town and bring him to me. But don't come back here without him.

: The Bard was no longer welcome in the town of Houton. Not until he returned with the villainous Keill Swart.

He'd been thrown out without even the chance to get breakfast. But he remembered Roy's invitation to the Hunting Grounds.

After a quick meal of Roast Grouse for himself and Bitey, the Bard proceeded to rob Roy of all his treasures.

In one chest, the Bard found a rare token, the Findruine Charm. As soon as he picked it up, he felt healthier and more vital.

This token is the only reason to hunt grouse, but it's worth it.

As the Bard approached Kirkwall, he passed by a farmer's field. Vultures were swooping down. "Looks like they've found somethin' nice and dead over there," the Bard commented to himself.

Chapter 3-00 - Kirkwall

A Warm Welcome to Kirkwall

: Hold on a minute... Chapter 3? What happened to Chapter 2? ... Oh, this book is out of order! All the pages are mixed up! ... You see children, I told you, this is what happens when you select a book of poor quality such as this one. ... Yes, very well. I'll try to continue to the best of my ability.

And so the Bard arrived in Kirkwall, a peaceful and quiet town. The place seemed oddly familiar, and he would soon learn why. As soon as the Bard stepped into town, a young woman spotted him and rushed toward the Bard with unusual eagerness.

Fiona: Oh my Lord! I don't believe it! I truly don't believe it!! Do my eyes deceive me?
: One can only hope.
: So much for peaceful and quiet.
Fiona: My eyes speak the truth. My love has indeed returned. Although you vowed to return to my arms, time had cast coubt on my heart. It's been so long since that magical night.

Vote: Should the Bard be Pure Snarky, Pure Nice, Snarky, then Nice, or Nice then Snarky?

Note: Only the last response determines the outcome - the outcome is the same for both Nice-Nice and Snarky-Nice, only the transition dialogue changes.
