The poor woman has about a billion tumors all over the place inside her, but the game sticks to the description of "Kinda like Kaposi's Sarcoma but faster." It's a tumor caused by HHV8, and it's most known for being an AIDS-defining illness.



The shadow will only disappear if you take too long between "marking" the tumor with an ultrasound and actually revealing it with the scalpel. Alternatively, you can just avoid marking it altogether. Doing so won't stop you from treating it, but you may run the risk of forgetting where it is, and it's really not necessary to be that cautious.
