Part 118: Chapter 12, Part 5
No. Unfortunately I was joking; the Armageddon ritual uses shards of the Black Gate as a reagent, and we're all out of Black Gates at the moment.CaptainCaveman posted:
Oooh. Can you actually do that? Do we get a decent bad ending then or anything?
Terfin: Part 4

After running around the corner, we encounter an NPC.
: No, by the looks of you, my guess is that you're a big strong hero who's just down here to kill monsters.
: Who are you?
: No, you go first. Tell me your name and I'll tell you mine!
: I am the Avatar.
: The Avatar, eh? I guess I was right about you being a hero. My name is Ciara, and it's very nice to meet you, Avatar.
: I'm not here to just kill monsters. I'm on a quest.
: Of course you are, dear. I'm sure that it's a very important quest too, but how about helping me out a little, hmm?
: I'm very busy, Ciara...
: Oh, fine, too busy to help a lady, I see.
: It's not that; it's just that I have very important things to do.
: And helping a lady isn't important? Fine. That's just fine. See if I care.
: ...Okay, what can I do to help you?
: Well, it's like this: I've been down here for an ogre's age looking for a treasure room. So far, all that I've found is a strange red cube.
: I think that I've found the room that the treasure is in, but the door is locked and I haven't been able to find the key.
: You're looking for a treasure room?
: Oh yes, it's said to be piled high with gold and gems.
: Some pirates or maybe even a dragon probably hoarded it away.
: It's been down here for years. Say, I don't suppose you've gotten into that room have you?
: No, I haven't. But, as I said, I'm not treasure hunting. I'm...
: ...on a quest. Yes, I know.
: I'd be most appreciative if you could keep an eye out for that key. I ran into a crazy old mage and I think that he has the key.
: I've looked everywhere else for it. But when I try to talk to that old loon he tries to attack me.
: Won't you please help?
: I'll try to look for the key.
: Thank you very much. I promise that I'll give you a nice reward if you can bring me that key. Goodbye, now.
As always, we help her because we have to, not because we want to.
We've already found her key, so let's just talk to her again.
: Yes, I have the key.
: Then hand it over!
: A deal's a deal, here's your cube. Now, if you'll excuse me. I'm off to the treasure room!
We place the Power Cube we were just given into a nearby receptacle.
It lowers the force field guarding the way ahead.
I'm not sure why a Power Cube would cut off power to something but alright.
We head straight down the hallway.
Eventually we get to a dining room. There is a button on the arm of the large chair.
Pressing the button reveals another hidden area.
The mouth on the stone face in the hidden area has a lever in it.
Throwing the lever deactivates another force field.
I'm not sure why they did it this way. It would be much more efficient to just have the chair-button deactivate the force field.
Inside this new room, we install all of the Power Cubes we've collected so far.
Installing all of the Cubes makes a meteor appear above the table.
It's too heavy to place in our inventory, so we work it across the floor.
..and then onto the machine.
When the meteor is placed on the metal disc, it lowers into the machine and a large holographic gem appears above it.
You know what? I honestly don't get what just happened, but it makes a teleporter spawn somewhere near the crazy mage from earlier.
