Part 4
The recon reports for the north show that the Russians have formed a decent line in the area around Pskov.
This may well cause us some problems, as we have little fuel in our front line units.
The 16th Army moves up to the front, but cannot engage any Russian units.
The 18th move up the other side, and again meet no resistance. Its down to the 4th Panzer Group to continue the advance, and they are low on fuel.
The Totenkopf SS Division forces a Russian unit back, but for this week, we have to satisfy oursefl with minimal operations to cut off those three units to the south of Pskov.
A series of short fights puts the 6th Panzer Div. Into Pskov, a week later than I would have liked. Now we have to hope that we can get some more fuel into these units soon, as this is the sum of the advance for this week.
The Fins have entered the war however, and we see some movement on the northern front. Their advances are minimal however.
At least it is another front the Reds have to worry about, and the southern section of these forces are not moving yet.
AGC reports show a line of enemy forces to the west of Smolensk. While this is stronger to the north of the line and the AGN/AGC boarder, there is a apparent gap to the south near the ends of the Pryapit marshes.
The Infantry struggles to catch up, with the 9th Army moving north to take up position to join up with the southern elements of AGN
The 4th Army continues to skirt the south of the marshes, with the 2nd trailing in the rear, these units will fan out once we have crossed the marshlands and form the main lines.
The 2nd Panzer Group tries to cross the Dnepr, with the 1st Cav. Div. Finding a weak spot in the line.
Unfortunately, none of the other units can take advantage, and we are stalled on this side of the river.
3rd has little more success, securing their bridgehead, but not being able to exploit it.
It seems that the centre has played itself out for the time, without fuel or infantry support, we can move no further forwards, but the infantry will be in place in the next couple of weeks, and hopefully we can continue the advance then.
The recon reports for AGS actually show and improving situation, we have now bagged more enemy forces than we seem to have in front of us. This is most likely not the complete situation, but for now, it will be circulated amongst the troops. This should see morale continue to maintain its current high level.
The 110th Jager Division suffers a few casualties clearing Lvov of three powerful Russian divisions. But the battles are now massivly in our favour, and the few men remaining in the pockets are not willing to continue to fight.
The 110th have a good week, and move south to clear out the remaining enemy formations in the area. The rest of the 17th Army advances to the south east.
The 6th Army receives three divisions of reinforcements, and moves forwards on the pocketed enemy units.
They clear up several units, and keep close to the 1st Panzer Group.
To the south, the Romanians and the 11th Army continue to press forwards. They make some good ground, as the bulk of the Soviet forces seems to be concentrated in the north.
The 1st Panzer Group leaps forwards some more- the darker hexes are those taken this turn, as you can see, we have managed to bag at least ten more divisions.
We now have a huge number of Soviet Armoured divisions behind our lines, and the Russians losses will continue to rise.
Once again, the Russians are able to reopen the supply lines to their men near Pskov. This is most infuriating, and comes close to cutting off three of our Panzer divisions as well!
They also close up near Mogilev, but fail to shift our forces on the other side of the Dnepr.
in the south, both the Vinnitsa and Chudnov pockets are broken, allowing several Russian units to slip from our grasp.
Lets start once more by looking at the losses for the last week.
Our own losses are holding steady at about 8,000 a week, while the Russians have lost another 200,000, taking their total losses to nearly the quarters of a million.
Once again, despite us causing horrendous losses on the Soviet forces, the actual size of their army has not changed, as they have shipped in more troops and created more chaff divisions to throw at us.
The supplies continue their pattern. More in our stores, less in our units.
I did use HQ build-up to allow the 4th and 2nd Panzer groups to replenish their supplies. This uses up some of my admin points, but gives these units much more supplies to draw upon.
Hmm, Fuel. The lifeblood of the Panzer.
We continue to repair and replace our losses as our men are wounded and killed on the front lines.
We also see the factories continue to pump out supplies for the war effort.

While the territory map shows how small our gains have been the last week. That said, our forces are in good positions, and the infantry are soon to catch up with the Panzers once they do, we can use them to punch holes for more rapid Panzer advances.
