Part 811: Operational Report: 25/02/44
There are three waves of Betties over Truk at night, but they hit nothing, and we hit nothing.
We find a cruiser and transport ship at Sorong, and make a visit with some dive bombers.
The massed CAP over Akyab is holding, and we're starting to see the Japanese losses in the area increase.
This may be a drop in the ocean of Japanese planes, but it makes me feel better.
I have to say that I lose count of the number of Japanese planes that attack the base, thy must have sent hundreds of planes in today, if not near a thousand.
I wish I could shift this lot.
Of course, we can't leave the subs out.
The Japanese throw another four thousand men away again.
The ships sail onwards. The refuelling convoy will leave tomorrow, as I may want to keep the carriers in action for a little longer its not really them who are the worry, its the destroyers with them.
