Part 45: Turn 48 - 27th May 1944
We hit the beaches. As expected, the losses are heavy.
We fail to make a beachhead here.
Landings here go better.
The southern-most landing is out Utah beach it seems.
I had to use the Princess Irine Brigade.
We're ashore here as well.
There is a good time for the Germans to react, and they move a large number of men into position.
There is little movement in the German line here.
Losses spike, but these include the fighting around the beachheads since the landings.
We hit a Panther Factory! I think that's the first time they've actually hit a tank factory.
I probe the German line for weaknesses.
There we go!
On we press!
Another breakthrough is achieved.
Their poor front line.
These guys just surrender.
Vietinghoff holds, but he looks less than confident about his long term survival prospects.
A second wave finishes the job.
The South Africans visit Milan and Turin in the same week.
Mostly it's moving up troops and getting ready to Liberate Genoa.
I land armour, but won't be able to push until next week I do take the Hague however.
I'm going to hold off on landing the Paras until I know I can get moving.
