Part 46: Turn 49 - 3rd June 1944

The Germans try and push us off the Beaches.

My men hold the line.

The SS move into Amsterdam, while the Luftwaffe units hit the south.

These attacks have cost them a lot of Panthers.

The RAF hammer the areas around the landing zone.

The daylight raids favour fuel and manpower this week.

The Germans have massively thinned their lines to cover my breakthrough. This makes more breakthroughs possible.

Clear the front line.

Give the men some room to move.

These SS guys just evaporate.

Making holes is easy.

I need to clear a line to take Venice and encircle the 9th Panzer Division.

Looking good.

I try and crack these guys, whole hold the important bit of the line, preventing free movement.

I fail, so I have to stack the line for next weeks advances.

While I don't have the forces to hit Genoa, the tanks are making great time on the whistle stop tour of Northern Italy.

The Germans are well dug in, an unloading the next wave of troops gives me little time for attacks.

The terrain gives the defender a massive advantage, as expected.

The attempts to break out run into heavy resistance from the SS troops manning the front line.

Thank god for Italy keeping the balance in my favour!
