Part 117: Proxima System, Sol Sector, Mission 1 (Gameplay)
And I'm back! Actually I was back online yesterday, but I was also at an archery club, so this didn't appear until today.14th September 2669, Proxima System (Mission 1), Sol Sector
TCS Victory
The Victory joins other Confederation forces attempting to blockade the jump point to Sol, as a massive Kilrathi force tries to break through.

(Flint's way of dealing with Vaktoth works, I guess, but I don't really recommend it...)
Kills this mission: 14 All the strategy guides here say "infinite numbers of Kilrathi fighters" which might very well be true, but doesn't actually tell you what most people want to know, which is the series of fighters you get before being ordered to withdraw (this mission is unwinnable for any sensible definition of winning). That's always what we got here - one wave each of Darkets, Dralthi and Vaktoth, two waves of 3 Strakhas/1 Corvette, and then 4 Dralthi and a Carrier as you're ordered to retreat. You don't really have time to kill the carrier on Nightmare (OK, I'll admit I didn't try that hard, but nor did I get very close) before the Victory jumps out and strands you, though it is possible on lower difficulty levels. The actual mission is trivial - nothing thrown at you here is close for a match to a pair of Excaliburs.
