Part 66: Mission #62: Olympus station, Ghorah Khar system
Mission #62: Olympus station, Ghorah Khar systemPreviously on Wing Commander: We again escorted a pair of Broadswords to attack a Kilrathi corvette. After that we proceeded onwards to the Olympus station where we currently still are.
Yeah, it offends me too, it's getting a bit silly at this point.
Oh, hey, let me guess who it was!
But of course. Well at least that's that mystery solved.
Hopefully, this applies to slaves of other species too!
Well, I didn't expect that we will be able to simply leave!
Right then, just a simple flight back home, yeah? Heh, of course not. Although it's not too far from it.
So it was another short one I guess. I seriously have no idea why the enemy persist in attacking our capital ships/star bases with fighters that cannot damage them, it's all a bit silly. Still, like in this mission, it gives us nice target practice. Also, since we haven't really had a chance to use missiles properly for one reason (not having them) or another (enemy too good at using decoys) I thought we could also have some fun with that in this one too--also just to demonstrate how dumb-fire missiles aren't completely useless.
And no ejection/running away from Hobbes this time, although I got the impression that he would have done it again had the mission gone on for a couple of minutes longer than it had.
In any case, that is all for the Ghorah Khar system; thanks to the Kamekh from previous mission having been destroyed we are moving on down the winning path again into the Novaya Kiev system next time. We get a new wingman and a different ship to fly; but we will be back in Rapier again before the game ends for a few more missions.
It so was NOT. I find this quite amusing when game makes assumptions about what you will find difficult or not.
I toasted 6 of the bastards and Hobbes nailed 1 of them. All in all, he's not too bad.
I'm going to take a guess that the admiral had something to do with that.
But wait, there's more!
You know who we haven't really checked in with for a while? Our buddy, Prince Thrakhath! Let's see what he's been up to in the meantime; and for this we get a nice cutscene with full on voices again. (Don't worry, since the Kilrathi voices can be a little hard to decipher occasionally, I have included 'pasted-on' subtitles this time--please excuse the plain looking font though.)
Current kill total: 62 missions/563 kills
