Original Thread: Phallic robots on Mars! Let's Play Z.O.E 2.

Introduction

Let me preface this thread by saying I'm sorry it took so long. I originally reserved this game way back at the beginning of June, and since then a combination of critical computer failures, heavy workload at school and to be honest had delayed this thread far longer than I had wished. But it's here now, and hopefully it will do this game justice.

So without further ado, Let's Play Zone of the Enders 2: The Second Runner

What is it?
Zone of the Enders 2 is a game for Playstation 2 released around April of 2003. It is the sequal to Zone of the Enders 1, surprisingly, which is probably only remembered because it came packaged with a demo for Metal Gear Solid, which most likely contributed to half it's total sales.

So it was bad?
No, but it could have been much better.

Is 2 better?
Much. When it was first released, the only thing people could fault were it's difficulty (too easy) and it's length (too short). Everything else is wonderfully polished, and piloting your mech is so smooth that it quickly becomes second nature. Add to this copious amounts of eye candy (see Intro Movie link below) and you've got yourself one hell of a game.  You also get to fight the Vic Viper! And it's a transformer! You cannot tell me that isn't awesome!

So I'm reading your Let's Play... Why did you do it like this?
It's a long story... When I first planned on doing this, I had intended to do it as a straight up screenshot/caption thread. That quickly fizzled out when I realized each update would be about 70+ images (even that would be with heavy editing), and wouldn't capture the frantic feel of the game.

Then, I looked into doing a video Let's Play. Apart from not being able to figure out how to get the background music into the videos, it was also a struggle to comment and play for long periods at the same time (Note to self: never go into radio.)

In the middle of this, I got sidetracked with finishing a different Let's Play that had been abandoned by the guy who created it. A part of that Let's Play revolved around a comic book, so I thought it would be cool to do that particular section in a comic book style. This got me thinking back to my original concept... Why have 100 screenshots in an update when I could just make all those screenshots panels in a comic page and upload them as one image? It would also make the story flow much quicker. So I went with it, and here we are.

Anyway, enough talk. Let's get down to business.
