As the de-facto leader of Alpha Keshik, the most powerful Cluster in Clan Hell’s Horses, Star Colonel Kelso Cooper was considered perhaps the best warrior in the Clan short of the Khans themselves. A head wound suffered early in the invasion had also rendered him, according to the Scientist Caste, certifiably insane. A one-time Loremaster of the Hell’s Horses, Kelso’s skill as a `Mechwarrior had precluded his early retirement, and none would trust him training the next generation of warriors. Not anymore. He obeyed the ilKhan and a few others, but the truth was he made the other Hell’s Horses nervous. When the Khan had ordered him to join this raid, he hadn’t thought twice about it.

It was entirely possible he didn’t even remember the Khan’s order.

Muttering the Rememberance under his breath, Kelso seemed an almost instinctive `Mechwarrior. He couldn’t have said why a certain action was correct, but in his insanity he was still prone to actions that shocked the `Mechwarriors of the Inner Sphere in their audacity. Twice since his near-fatal wounding had he saved at least a Trinary of the Clan’s warriors from being cut off or killed. He’d claimed afterwards that he’d had a vision of the future, and had known his actions would succeed, but if you asked him now?

He wouldn’t have remembered any of it.
