Piet struggled as her `Mechs gyro skipped, right arm flying forward as if the tiny stump still attached to the shoulder would be enough to keep her upright. Its massive boot-like feet shrieked as they ground against the ferrocrete tarmac, sliding further apart to lower the `Mechs center of gravity. The Banshees torso sagged, its weakened skeleton barely able to support the weight of the machines scarred head. Eye-searing blue light still leaked from the PPCs charging coils as the capacitors there flickered and died. Myomer bundles hung in tattered strips, and green coolant oozed and fell in globs like clotted blood.
Lit only by the flickering of her `Mechs HUD, Piets lips curled into a cruel smile. Her Banshee wasnt dying, like Piet it was already dead. Like Piet, it still stood. Still walked. Like Piet, it would still fight. That was all she cared about, and to hell with anyone that tried to take that from her. To hell with the whole universe if need be, she still had her pride. And enemies to kill.
The ruins of Piets Banshee shook with her laughter.
