Part 22

There is something very wrong with the cat dude. He's both behind and in front of pink haired girl.
Did you work on this game or with Ubisoft or something?
So Lucia doesn't learn any spells anymore, but do her spells at least scale like everything else? If it doesn't then her spells will become even more useless than they currently are.
When production of this game first began, Ubisoft originally approached prominent members of the Lunar Fandom to advise them in the game. Those approached did some consultation on the game, have their names in the credits and got access to quite a bit of development materials and conceptual stuff during the process. Many of which they were able to keep. Unfortunately my informant is still bound by an NDA so I can't elaborate further nor provide scans, so you'll have to take my word for it.
Suffice to say I have had the opportunity to look over all of these documents and am not listed in the credits.
A brief History of Dragon Song Lucia:
When the fans were approached with potential names for the character that became Lucia the name she was given at the time was Lucia but the designers were a bit concerned about using the same name.
It was actually one of the fans who suggested they go ahead and stick with naming Dragon Song's female lead Lucia, despite it being the same name as EB's female lead. The fan's rationale was that people can have the same names. The Lucia is/was chosen for their respective characters because the name is associated with light, purity, and goodness.
I told that fan later that some people might view another Lucia as pandering and be insulted. I suggested Elin, which also means light. (Elin also had a second benefit of being a reference to another RPG translated by Working Designs called Vay.)
With the rationale that plenty of girls have the same name and fans aren't idiots to back them up the designers were pretty dead set on using Lucia. There are plenty of other L-Names they could have used: Lina, Lita or Leyna, which all mean light. In the end, it was Lucia and whatever.
Why is my name not listed in the credits?
I wasn't involved with this, okay? There were only a handful of these meetings, and those involved were passionate fans of this game so they donated their time and consulting services for free. The two biggest names in the Fandom spent a great deal of time explaining the lore to those who would listen and answering a lot of questions. However, I can see from the notes left on the documentation by the fans and the content of the game that the fans' suggestions, corrections, and input were being ignored.
The company rarely addressed the concerns and inconsistencies that were pointed out. I'm sure Camel Pimp will go on at length about many plot points (and I use the term plot very loosely and generously) in this game that are completely idiotic. There are a few in particular that were there in early development, many were specifically pointed out by the fans, who even wrote and suggested several alterations that would make the event not ass or less ass, to no avail.
What I personally see before me, in the files I have access to, is a warning. A warning that whatever was going to be made was not only not going to be Lunar, but it was also not going to be good. I wouldn't want my name associated with something terrible.
The two super fans do have their names in the credits, however.
I never finished this game but some of my friends actually did and they told me that actual lines of dialog, quest, and book text that I suggested are in this game. I don't believe them, because everything I suggested to the fans was coherent and charming and nothing in this game is that.
I've rambled enough now. If you want more being ignored by Ubisoft stories from my "mysterious inside source" (wink wink) I'll share them.
