Part 9: Mission 06: River | Extraction
Mission 06 - River: Extraction [ blip | youtube ]Primary: Sabotage Bridge
- The bridge to the armory is up - you can't get across! Steady your aim - a single shot to the bridge's terminal will lower it. If you want, you can shoot out the terminal for the other bridge too. It will raise the bridge and prevent dataDyne's reinforcements reaching you.
Support: Incapacitate Hovercraft
- You blew your way into dataDyne's vehicle pool - this area's packed with hovercraft. If you want to take some of the heat off your tail you need to sabotage them and stop them being used as reinforcements. They can't chase you if they're scrap metal.
Support: Steal Rocket Launcher
- The turret on the hovercraft Jack's hotwiring is only equipped with an M60. If you want to give yourself a fighting chance you might want to think about upgrading it. Steal the rocket launcher from the turret on the motor pool's outer wall and you can attach it to the hovercraft's turret. Thank me later, okay.
Primary: Power Down Radar
- There's no use high-tailing it out of there if Mai Hem can track your dropship. Make sure you're not followed by powering down the radar. Shoot out the power units at the base of both radar towers.
Primary: Escape To Airbase
- I know you favour the direct approach, but you're not getting out the way you came in. The only way to outrun Mai Hem is to steal a dataDyne dropship and fly your way outta here. The satellite I tapped into revealed an airbase a couple of klicks north. dataDyne use it to fly in those weird artefacts.
- The airbase is only accessible from the river, so I plotted an escape route through the motor pool. Jack can steal a hovercraft there while you open up the main gate. He's in a bad way, you gotta protect him and pilot both of you safely to the airbase.
- The gate controls are located on the left hand side of the gate in the tower. The route to them is protected by guards and turrets. Getting there's gonna be tough, but you can make it a whole lot easier if you use their turrets against them.
