War in the East

by Grey Hunter

Part 81

The Finns make a few attacks, but spend most of their time celebrating Xmas.

The German forces push deeper into Russian territory. Note my strong reserve in the centre, waiting for firm ground.

Here, with a little help from 16th Army, some 9th Army units break one of the lesser defended points on the Russian line.

Further down the line I do it again, weakening another Russian hard point.

wider scale attacks put a largest breach in the Russian line, and my men can now threaten Tula once more.

I trap another Guards Corps.

Then eliminate the one I trapped last week.

I also try and clear out that spur the Russians forced into my lines.

A Mechanized Corps is also cleared out.

I the have another general attack to keep the Russians off guard.

Troops start moving off from Baku, leaving one Division to dig in and defend. The 25,000 men in the Caucuses will not surrender.

I do manage to get another one of the units to surrender.

The other part of Russian land in the south still seems well defended, but my troops are slowly massing.

The first Panzer's are shipped north.

The Russians are not taking my advance on Tula without a fight, an launch a counter offensive.

The Moscow salient is starting to look really interesting. Although some people would look at the following screen shot and not know what the hell was going on.

We wipe out another 77,000 Russians, and over three hundred tanks.

Russian number stay steady, while ours seem to recover a little.

This is because our replacements seem to have been a little more effective this week.

Supplies no longer seem to be a problem, and will recover once the blizzard ends.

Lets see what 1943 brings!
