Part 44
(Video HERE / Backup)
I was hoping that Escher had some answers for me, but looking back on it, I'm not entirely sure what I really wanted to hear. She was a Mondite, but never a true believer like the rest. Still, I can't completely forgive her for allowing Mastaba's experiments to continue just so she could continue with her research.
I use the medical spray from Mastaba's operating room on her wounds. She may be one of them, but she deserves some compassion. She'll still die, medicine or no medicine, but at least this way she won't die in pain.
Dr. Escher: "Thank you. Let me rest now. Here -- take my translator. Go to the Alien Temple. You will need to know what it says there."
Dr. Escher: "A part of what you are came from that place."
I try to think of something to say, but I come up with nothing. It doesn't matter, nothing I could say will change what will happen.
Dr. Escher: "I'm sorry... about what they did to you."
She says this quietly, her head resting back against the wall, eyes closed and fading into unconsciousness.
I can't move her, and even if I could, there's nothing that could be done to save her. All I can do is let her rest.
I keep moving ahead, like always.
