Chapter 7: The Siren of Incest
Magic comes in levels. Though we don't have 2nd level black/white magic yet, this means that, when we do, non Black/White mages can use those spells. At level 6, all Black/White spells are available.
I actually pick up an Elixir. They restore all HP and MP, so having a few on hand can save your ass.
Galuf gets Barehanded, which allows any class to attack with the ferocity and +26 strength of a Monk!
Inside another derelict, we find the World Map! Pres R, and you can see a very low resolution image of the world!
I just use it when sailing. \/\/
Two Antidotes and a Phoenix Down.
Mindflushers can lick party members, inflicting damage and Sap, which inflicts constant damage.

The whole rest of the ship, apparently.
Lenna and Faris carry magic secondary abilities, while Galuf has Barehanded. I think we're ready for anything.

Galuf systematically smacks Burtz, Faris, and Lenna really hard.

BOSS FIGHT: SIREN
Siren starts out with a high magic defense. Attack magic is useless, so just smack her around. She casts nine different spells at random times.
The most annoying of those is Protect. She's pretty much invulnerable to magic, so lowered physical damage slows killing her.
Now the fight gets interesting.
When she's undead, Siren's defense skyrockets and she starts using extremely powerful physical attacks. Venomous Clasp deals such damage, and even poisons, which takes a few HP periodically.
Now, she's open to magic, including Cure. Using the proper kind of damage at the proper time downs Siren in moments.
Siren's so lame she gets the boring regular death fade. Note Lenna being poisoned. That's going to happen a lot more.
Living Siren drops Bronze Armor while dead Siren drops this Shield. Both are available in the next town, but free items never hurts.
Now that we're out of the Ship Graveyard, we'll have to figure out how to get to Walse without a boat.
