Part 13: Engineering needs more conveyor belts
Chapter 11: Engineering needs more conveyor belts
I get sidetracked by ice goddesses and dog massacres easily, okay?
The engine?
Yes... If the engine isn't stopped-and quickly-the fire crystal will shatter. Will you go?
Cid, Burtz doesn't even know what an engine is. To him, boats are powered by slavery, wind, or Plesiosaurus.
No explanation as to why, it just is.
I don't see what's so fire-powered about this shi
...Is that precision-welded steel?
...Diesel generator-powered elevators?
Crew Dusts appear in groups of 2 or 4 or with some other enemies. When alone, they cast Flash, a spell which blinds all targets. Everyone but Galuf rocks some hardcore sunglasses.
It's also blue magic that's hilariously inaccurate and never hits the things you really want blind anyway.
They're also weak to ice. Right after you get Shiva and Blizzara.
Poltergeists are like Mindflushers except they absorb elemental damage. Defeaters are mundane attack-until-dead guys until you kill one as the last enemy...
Then two Motor Traps show up. I think these guys cast Stop but they've been met with a swift Thundara.
That conveyor belt runs away from the chest.
I can't even feign being interested in this part. Need I recount the number of times I've done this?
Probably somewhere around 20.

4 paths? Let's try the left most one!
And it's a fucking maze of conveyor belts that drops us at...
I won't bore you with details about righty here.
The end result is a nice hat.
Middle right?
The Thief's Gloves double the chance of a successful steal.
The last one?
Some magic slicey boomerang!
A save point? The boss must be near.
This puzzle is boring as hell. That box is an elixir.
Boss room. Obviously as hell.
Could you help us turn off this engi
...What?
She's summoning flames!
...Which are a boss fight!
BOSS FIGHT: LIQUID FLAME
Rod count: 3
Yeah, so he has this complicated gimmick of changing between human, hand, and tornado forms. The human and hand hit you and tornado heals itself. Whenever he's hit, he casts Fira on one person for about 400 or Blaze at all for about 100 then changes form. The hand instead uses Reverse Polarity which changes rows.
Thanks to the wonderful world of elemental rods, he can only change forms once before dying as violently as a mass of fire can.
another form drops a Fire Bow, and the third drops a Fire Scroll.
So, completely destroying the engine counts as stopping it, right?
Your Highness...
The crystals... It's not just the machines that are destroying them... Something evil is using their power to resurrect itself... Please, save the Fire Crystal. It's in the room just through that pipe.
Set Faris up for what's gonna happen next...
...And this pipe won't goddamn end.
