Krile's Marceyventure- Episode 1: Sometimes I'm a Blue Mage, sometimes I'm a wingraptor...Our adventure begins much like all the rest of them
A dragon, a dad, his daughter...
A pirate....
A crazy man in a meteor...
And this dude. Who isn't this dude, but we'll get to that in a minute.
Our megamimic is named Marcey, and Marcey has a nice Kirby Pink background, because the gimmick of this run is beating up bosses as other bosses.
After we save Galuf and Lenna in this timeline, Galuf realizes that Marcey is sweet on Lenna.
This is especially awkward because after Knocking them both out, Marcey reveals herself as secretly Krile! Who was a Knight for some reason when I switched her in. Some side effect of the code I used to sub her in.Please ignore Faris in the screenshot. That's from a few minutes later.
One fun thing about this run is seeing what animations are character coded, and which can be done by anyone. For example, Krile here can check for lookouts...
But the Bartz sprite speaks with Lenna and Galuf. It's testament to how good at mimicry Krile is that Galuf never suspects a thing.
Anyways, we get caught, Faris talks about ransoming Lenna.
Lenna shows her pendant, Faris freaks out and throws us in the hold.
Galuf reveals his amnesia is laser guided
And Marcey nearly gives up the game by calling Galuf Pops.
Shock! Faris has the same pendant as Lenna! HAMMERFISTED FORESHADOWING!
The next day we're brought out and set free
So we celebrate, and then immediately head anywhere but the wind shrine.
Like this town perhaps.
Marcey is enticed by the pleasures of the flesh...
and she really enjoys it. This and attraction to Faris take on a whole new meaning when you know it's Krile beneath the mask.
Unfortunately, Marcey!Krile can't sleep creep on Faris. She quick changes back to Marcey!Bartz the second she hits the door.
We eventually head through the wind shrine, and beat the crap out of Wingraptor.
Marcey vs Wingraptor: FIGHT!
We win Handily, mugging the crap out of him at the same time. Mug, Blue, Chakra is probably gonna be my walking around setup for a lot of this run.
Upstairs, Marcey proves so adept at mimicry, she fools the wind shrine into thinking she's its champion instead of earth.
We get a mission from a dead dude.
And we loot some crystals.
Back in town, we meet up with Zok
He feeds us an obvious lie about losing a key, but asks us to stay the night.
Later that night, Marcey wakes up, heads outside
And has a flashback about someone else's parents? I guess she's just getting into character.
Back inside, Zok sleep creeps on Lenna.
Marcey catches him heading out of their room.
Recognizing her as a fellow creeper, Zok hands over the key.
Now, I did record my expidition through the canal, but literally nothing happened. Turns out the enemy AI in the canal isn't programmed to deal with Krile, so nobody attacked her.
Karl didn't have the same issue.
Now, as I mentioned, the gimmick of my run is to Mimic the previous boss's attack patterns as best I can to defeat the next one. Well, in the second boss... I had a problem. Karl is keyed as heavy, and Wingraptor does percentile damage, which heavy bosses are basically immune to. So unable to kill him mechanically the same as Wingraptor, I killed him at least visually similarly, and Aera'd him to death. I meant to Aero, but I selected the wrong blue magic, and didn't realize until the fight was done.
WingRaptor V Karlaboss, FIGHT
Karl got tail screw off on me, but I was watching his HP, and new he'd die to another stiff breeze.
Final Level: 8
Total deaths: 0
For the record, my passives in that fight were counter, and artful dodger. I knew feeler would end my run or at least make it really annoying.
Now, I've cheated myself all the blue magics for simplicity's sake, and I haven't cheated myself any other magic yet. Yet. That may change if I need something in particular to mimic a specific skill I shouldn't have access to. I'm also not quite the Omnimime.
Mime, like Freelancer, absorbs automatically absorbs passives and stats from any class it's mastered. Despite having all abilities, I have no mastered classes, so Marcey is currently only a Megamime, not an Omnimime. For the most part, this just means I equip artful dodger when I need AGI, and something stronger than Blue if I need a magic boost (Blue is gonna show up a lot in this run, since the best way to mimick most enemy abilities is other enemy abilities).
Eventually, I want to 'master' the other jobs, and become a true Omnimime, but that won't be til the end of the game, or after it. At the very least, I want to master the Mime class itself, and then start putting AP towards other classes.
