Despite Hojo's claim that Nero would screw up Weiss' body as a suitable vessel for Omega, the final Weapon has decided to just go ahead and awaken anyway. Who would have guessed?
I'd recommend watching the bonus video if only to see Vincent fucking launch Yuffie across the room.

It seems that despite air superiority and tactical advantage, the rest of the good guy cast has failed to do anything productive with their time.
How else would we have a finale which involves Vincent doing 100% of the work?

So, Chaos explodes out of Omega's head and rockets into the night. Whelp, I guess we can pack this up and go home.
This appears to be a reoccurring problem of the Weapons in Final Fantasy VII.
But, the Omega Weapon had the foresight to come equipped with head regeneration. Which is probably a good thing. Since this guy has more problems with its head exploding than a zombie in the same room with a shotgun.
This is the first time Chaos has actually flown, as far as I can remember. It usually just stood around firing lasers and throwing guns through people. The wings are just for show. It employs Dragon Ball Z type levitating powers instead.
Omega comes equipped with a giant bullshit shield which will require at least a full fifteen minutes worth of flashbacks and out of body self reflective brooding to penetrate.
With a side of deus ex machina and massive leaps in logic. So, while Vincent is left to ponder what's up with the wing fetish the series seems to have, let's get on with the questionable plot progression...

A counterbalance...? I thought Chaos and Omega had a Silver Surfer/Galactus type thing going on. Does this mean the planet has a fail-safe where if things are fucked, Omega is summoned to pull everyone out of there and book...but it also made another entity fucking fight it before it can take off? Since... Well, no... That is pretty in line with this established universe.
It would not be a Shelke cutscene if there wasn't a creepy camera angle focusing directly on her ass. Goddammit, Japan...
The lifeforce of the planet and its inhabitants manifested as a few thousand foot tall doomsday monster should roughly equate to the Internet...? Yeah, I guess I can believe that.

In case you'd forgotten what that acronym stood for, Shelke's super ability is she is really good at using the Internet. To the point she can upload her consciousness into the Internet to err...like Google things and search Wikipedia at the same time while gathering relevant Youtube links. I don't know.
In any case, in the past she used a big silly looking fishbowl helmet to interface with the net. Here, she is just putting some tube that leaks Mako over top a recliner and hoping for the best. The result?
Flying at super sonic speeds. What else?
Super Shelke's first act is to rocket through the sky straight into Omega's forehead. Just ignore the impenetrable shield that was there a minute ago.
Of course, all doesn't go according to plan. The greatest fear of any underage female in Japanese media rears its ugly head:
