Part 134: Low-Level Run - Chapter 16

Last time we beat up the thing that gives the most EXP and picked up a ninja.

who is even saying this

So Yuckerella will be EXP sponge for this last bit, and she'll do so by hitting things with the Conformer with Double Cut. Despite being somewhere around half the level the game expects, she'll do pretty well for herself.

Incidentally, why the hell do I have 8 saves of this and why was I trying to make a ninth?

I still manage to loot the place. None of it really helps IIRC but still.

Outside of a few cases (fuck you Carry Armor!) enemies in this game don't actually kill you that quick. By the time you could be vulnerable to harm, you have a pail full of stupidly overpowered gear.

Okay, so, I did the math, and the Turks fight here gives 4,500 experience, while all the mandatory fights in Wutai give a total of 4650. But that's not why I skipped Wutai. The thing is, the encounter against the Turks here is coded poorly, in an aspect of FF7's scripting I don't completely understand. Basically, just stand on this center rail.

No, really, you're above the trigger for the Turks fight and don't have to fight them. That's how it works.

The subplot with them just drops off the fucking globe as a result.

Shinra HQ still has its old encounters, so it is woefully inadequate even compared to CLOUD's anemic crew.

Not sure why I yoinked but I yoinked. Missing Score's not missing either.

It's because they made me!

Yuckerella manages to deal about 2,500 a round to bosses. Proud Clod is level 53, and the Jamar Armor is at 62. Unlike Freeze or Right Arms, it doesn't cost anything to do, either.

Also the boss isn't dangerous at all. Its attacks are mostly x1 physicals which would fail to two-shot Yuckerella even if she weren't in resplendent endgame armor in the back row with Barrier constantly applied. Materia-jammer wiffs as I'm using physicals, as well.

Also hit it with Magic Hammer 3 times and it can't even Beam Cannon you.

This baby is appreciated. Massive boosts to CLOUD's magic and spirit along with 6 linked slots.

RIP fat dude and booby lady the compilation makes you even more cartoonishly evil.

So, Hojo.

Yuckerella's not really bothered by low-end physicals or Fire2s and she can rip through his HP pretty quick due to his high level. The Conformer's sitting at a bit above triple normal damage thanks to his level.

Then he becomes Helletic Hojo who can't do much to her still as she has a Ribbon. Pile Banger is pretty rough but, armor, Barrier, row.

The Conformer is long range even, this is rude. He's level 55 so it's hitting even harder now.

Lifeform-Hojo hits pretty hard, and Slow can actually get through the Ribbon, but Yuckerella's got the Mystile too so she's evasive as hell and he's higher level with even less defense than before, so she's hitting really hard.

By the way, there's technically three things called Lifeform-Hojo present. The other two are invisible and untargetable, and exist internally so that the game won't call on Helletic Hojo's arms at a bad time. Due to them also being called "Lifeform-Hojo" internally, the one we can hit is labeled A, and the two invisible ones are B & C.

No, really, her attacks are now a half stronger, sitting at about 3.6 times normal damage.

CLOUD gets Combo'd to death right in time for Yuckerella to score killing blows. Sense fails as Lifeform-Hojo has 30,000 HP exactly, so I had to count the old-fashioned way.

This 25k is the last forced experience in the game. We did it guys. We're past the point where we need to kill Taft off!

And that's also it for disc 2! Next time: A day (or 500) at the races.
