Part 48

Blast?

Damn... this thing's huge!
Alright... let's see here...

This is NOT aerodynamic.

The enemy count is actually very low here. You can get them out of the way early on, which is nice.

These engines are hanging above empty air. I couldn't get them without Rook falling and blowing up because he's a moron, and I fell to my own death after taking this shot. I reloaded state and told Rook to retreat. No reason to waste money.

like a rock!
We are?

dropping rapidly! They're going to crash at this rate... Please! Get out of there!
I don't know why, exactly, but I assume he has a very good reason.
Note: You can't actually use that entrance yet, first you need to blow up every engine.

Keep in mind that they have no engines on one side at this point.

Yep, that actually ends the level.

Let's rock!

Well, if it isn't forehead herself.
I seem to recall she was the one running away in all previous engagements. Must run in the family.
He's not giving them much credit, is he?
No. No it won't. Unless you can glide really well or built more than double the number of required engines, in which case you're still in bad shape because they're all on one side.
She had to grow up with him! Must have been terrible.
Ohh, I've been waiting for a chance to get a crack at this idiot.
By the way, see that barrier in front of me in the last shot? The laser doesn't work on it. I had to get out of the Wanzer to blow it up.

Bane of generic soldiers everywhere.

Zombie Balming? I didn't expect that.
Well, alright. It's just a clone palette swap with the exact same attacks but so much life that he takes longer to kill than the previous version. I'll spare the details since he's the exact same boss.

This picture gets in for posterity though.

Mini-Sleipnir? Huh.

It shoots adorable little bullets and launches

Dies! That's two bosses and the level isn't over yet.

Boy howdy do I wish shaking came through in screenshots.

See all those items? I ignored all of them so I could avoid getting raped by giant robots. Just a heads up.

That's engine 7 out of Avagadro's number.

Because RPG clichés must be obeyed?
I don't have character pictures saved for the next two lines, so I'm going to go ahead and hit Syrg levels of laziness.

"Ha ha! Oh, I'm such a crazy guy when I'm killing people."

That's not an error on my part. She yells ellipses.
That... makes absolutely no sense and I get the feeling your explanation will upset me.

Genoce's first actual success in the field of beating someone. Sure, they were unarmed and on-foot, but, hey, baby steps.
And then she runs away again. Definitely in the genes.

Genoce goes in...

Aaaand Genoce backs out again, smoking. That's a pretty fast loss, even for him.

Thou dost surrender thy chance at glory so readily? So be it, traitor! If thy intent by my lady's life, face me and fight!
You just got called stupid by the stupidest stupid to ever stupid, Albert. You going to take that?

He walks left, he walks right, he has a shield that can't be pierced, and he tries to hit you with his stick. Exciting this ain't, so we'll leave it at that just for now.

It's time we evacuate! Make the preparations!
She sure changed her mind fast after being shot.
And then he runs. I hate him more with each passing second.

Nah, I think I will.

Next time: What you've all been waiting for.
